laziness = boredom

Lazy days sound wonderful to me all the time. But let's be honest, I get incredibly bored when I'm attempting to be lazy. Today is one of those days. I'm sitting here thinking about what to do and can't come up with anything. {Well there are some things, like buying flowers and planting them, but that would be require me driving to the store and spending money.} Of course, the very last day of my spring break is a beautiful and hot spring day. I have been attempting to enjoy the nice weather.

I've already done a lot. And now I'm B-O-R-E-D. Feeling like I should be working on wedding stuff....

I tried to get some sun while catching up on my magazines...

...and listened to the sweet sound of our new handmade {by Julia!} wind chime.

I watched the Blackhawk game with Kurt. Now we'll have to watch the Dallas game tonight because they must lose for the Hawks to get into the playoffs. Ugh.

I attempted to brush one very lazy dog...

I keep telling myself that the wind is going to pick up outside so that we don't have to turn on our A/C. But for now, I sit inside our house that is 83° watching golf {gross} trying to think of what I'll do for the rest of the day!

Maybe you should remind me not to complain when I get super busy in the upcoming weeks...

Merry Chirstmas {and Happy New Year}!

I love Christmas.....
The traditions, spending time with family, snow, music, etc.
I especially love that my family leaves for Cabo San Lucas, Mexico the Saturday after Christmas each year.

Yep, that's right. Saturday we'll be leaving the cold weather for a week of relaxing on the beach.

Have yourself a wonderful Christmas and a very fun New Year.

See you in 2010!

Thanksgiving Break - Night 1

Our Thanksgiving Break was so great! I'm lucky to teach at a school that I love and that has great perks! Each year, we get Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off school to celebrate Thanksgiving. So, officially my break began at 3:20 on Tuesday afternoon. Kurt and I decided that we should do something fun on Tuesday night to celebrate. We've been wanting to see A Christmas Carol and thought it would be a perfect night. There is an IMAX theater downtown Indy not too far from our house. We went to the later showing, so not many people were there. The popcorn was horrible, but the movie was great! We'd both recommend it, just not for young kids. It's a little scary...there were definitely parts when I jumped in my seat! Seeing it in an IMAX made it even more realistic and fun....even if you look goofy!!!

If it wasn't so expensive to see movies at the IMAX, we'd be there more often! Hope you get out to see the movie as well!

I can't wait to share with you the many, many things we did this weekend to decorate our house for Christmas. Here's a sneak peak....

taco tuesday

Every Tuesday evening, Kurt and I are glued to the TV.
Why?
We love The Biggest Loser.

There aren't many shows that we agree on watching together.
I like HGTV - He likes HBO.
About the only other thing we are willing to watch together is sports....a lot of 'em.

I find Tuesdays to always be ironic.
{FYI--Ironic is a very hard word to explain to kids. I was trying to do so today and didn't do a very good job. I really wanted to just play the Alanis Morissette song....I didn't!}

We end up sitting on our butts for close to two hours, right after we've eaten dinner {unless we eat dinner while watching!}, and most of the time eat some sort of dessert, as well! Hum....I thought the show was supposed to be motivating?!?

Schedule for tonight? Chicken tacos and Spanish rice -- always fills me up!
I'm sure I'll sneak a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich in sometime during the show...

I think know Kurt will dig into his odd obsession, popsicles!
We're seriously considering buying stock in the popsicle brand he eats {I don't even know what it is!}
We buy a big box every week at the store, he eats the whole box usually in four days.
I will admit, he buys the 15 calorie kind. He's got it figured out that he can eat X amount of popsicles for X amount of whatever else we have around the house.

Funny how people are different?!? I'd rather eat one really good thing and be done. He'd rather eat a gazillion popsicles that equals the one really good thing....

Have a great Tuesday evening. If you're watching Biggest Loser, enjoy. Who are you cheering for?!?

lazy no more

I can't believe that today marks the last day in July! Not only am I *utterly* disappointed that summer is coming to an abrupt end, but it's crazy to think that we've already completed 7 months of 2009!

I have spent the last couple of weeks sitting on my butt and being SO incredibly lazy. I've been sleeping in every morning and really not doing anything productive {i.e. there are still lots and lots of things that I need to unpack from the move home.....}. Today is a beautiful day outside and hopefully the sunshine will motivate me to get some things done inside and then enjoy the sun outside.

We're going to the Dave concert tonight, which should be really fun! Thankfully this year, we're sitting in the pavilion and hopefully won't have to deal with as many drunk high schoolers as we normally do.

I really only have one more week of summer vacation before I will be at school everyday getting ready for school to start. {I have a new room this year and haven't put one thing in it....that's another thing that I'm really slacking on!} Blogging may be light the next couple of weeks with getting ready for school, hopefully more house hunting, and trying to make the best out of my remaining summer afternoons.

As of right now, I'm done being lazy!
Enjoy your weekend {and maybe week if I'm not around to blog.}

refreshed

Today I spent the afternoon at the spa relaxing thanks to a fabulous birthday present from my lovely boyfriend!! I was well overdue for a much needed facial. I decided that while I was pampering my face, I might as well pamper my body a little too! I've never had a hot stone massage before and thought I'd give it a go. Both were wonderful and I can't wait to go back again soon. {Realistically it won't be for eons, but one can wish right?}

My trip to the spa has left me completely unmotivated even though I have a gazillion things to do in the next 3 weeks. I was feeling a little overwhelmed last night so I made Kurt and I a color coded calender complete with 4 colors {blue-Kurt, purple-me, green-both, and orange-events}. While I've only been adding things to the list since last night, I can't wait to start checking things off and kick this moving stress to the curb {even though I r e a l l y don't want to move away from Kurt and Cooper}.

Well, gotta run .... just thought of more "to-do's" for my calendar that's becoming more colorful by the minute!
